Tanner Gets a Fresh Coat

In the midst of a whirlwind European premier tour for his latest ski film "Believe," Tanner Hall was honored in the city of Schladming, Austria where the mayor personally draped a funky military-esque coat on his shoulders. As strange as this tradition may seem to us culturally sheltered Americans (how do you think Euros feel about mayors doling out large novelty keys that unlock nothing), it was actually a huge honor for Tanner. The jacket, called the Steirer Loden, was last bestowed upon Pope Benedict XVI and native Arnold Schwarzeneggar. Time will tell if Tanner decides to run a major religious sect or go the route of becoming a foreign film star turned political icon.

Check out some video of the Steirer Loden.
