Tanner has been in New Zealand during their winter to train hard for the upcoming season's X-Games and Dew Tour. He has been getting down to business, hiking pipe hour after hour to perfect a brand new and definitely improved pipe run. His daily routine consists of various switch 7's and 10's (down the pipe), flat 3's and 5's, and of course his new double flip. Whatever Tanner has been doing, it seems to be working. He scored an effortless victory in pipe in the NZ Freeski Open.

Tanner's friend and filmmaker, Eric Iberg, has been on hand to document each days work for video review and personal coaching and encouragement. They have been putting together a series of edits that are off the hook.

Red Bull Ski Team ripper Grete Eliassen sent us a tale and some epic shots from a bit of summer skiing down under. Not Australia. Argentina. That's still "down under", right? Anyway, we're thoroughly jealous. She was cruising with her Oakley teammates Marie-France Roy (Red Bull snowboarder), Pep Fujas, and Seth Morrisson.

A couple weeks ago we celebrated the end of July by heading up to Mt. Hood to meet up and shred with Red Bull team rider Angeli VanLaanen. We rolled up to the lift at Timberline and got up on the glacier just as the racers were getting out, and cruised around with Angeli as she sessioned Windell's jumps, rails, and pipe. Afterwards, we sat down and talked about her season, injury, the former USSR, and being a Red Bull rider.

Are you paying attention? Are you.....HEY! Ok, good. I know it's summer and all, and your dying of heat and all, but part of a successful winter is a properly developed pre-season stoke. "Why should I care about some ski company's little free movie," you might snarl in sweltering angst. (if you're scratching your head here, do a Google search so you don't sound dumb when talking about ski movie history. You're welcome.) Really, what more could you ask for?
