Just won the biggest win of my comeback in ski racing, took home today's GS Nor Am here in Panorama!
The first run was a very turny course, just the kind of course I like! I thought I did pretty well, came down and sat in the lead for a quite a while before I was bumped down to 2nd, still super pleased!
He's a pioneer of the freeskiing discipline, has nine X-Games medals
to his name, and he invented his trademark 'kangaroo flip' underwater
in a Brazilian swimming pool.
Jon's many fans have been able to
keep up with his hectic schedule (not many skiiers are based in Monaco)
until now thanks to daily video blogs filmed and edited by friend and
collaborator Josh Knox. But now Jon and Christoffer 'Crill'
Kristiansson have made a feature documentary - The Life I Live
- with spectacular shots of Jon's season on the slopes, as well as
interviews and footage of many of Jon's other 'extra-curricular'
activities. --Courtesy of The Red Bulletin
Josh Knox, video blogger for skiing superstar Jon Olsson, spills the beans of working behind the scenes with Sweden's King of Snow and his Super Sessions...
Spring is the busiest time of year for snowsports. After a season of chasing contest results and fresh powder across the globe, the pressure's on the pros to nail new tricks and podium places in these last few weeks. With his Super Sessions and Invitational events, filming his ski documentary The Life I Live and a daily video-blog on the go, superstar skier Jon Olsson knows the pressures of finishing projects before the snow melts.
A pioneer of new school skiing (inventing several double flip tricks) and Swedish Elle's sexiest man, Olsson holds nine Winter X-Games medals, set up the North American Open with Simon Dumont, and the Swedish Open.
From Newschoolers.com Jeff Schmuck (special thanks to Jeff and photographer Dan Brown):
It really could have gone either way, but in the end the judges gave the nod to an indescribably ecstatic Russ, who called tonight the best night of his life while relishing in his huge victory as Jon and Oscar drowned him in champagne.

Big Air at X Games has only one medal...gold. Skiers pair off and go head to head in sudden death elimination by text messages sent in by viewers in the crowd and at home on TV. In the first round, Red Bull's Simon Dumont bested PK Hunder with his crowd-pleasing Superman Double Front. Red Bull's Jon Olsson (last year's Big Air winner) left fellow Euro Jacob Wester in his dust with his big stylie double flips.
What more could we ask for than an all Red Bull skier final. The real tragedy is there had to be a loser. In the end, Simon won over the hearts and iPhones of viewers all over the states. Pre-contest, Simon annouced he would donate $10,000 of his winnings to his good friend Riley Poor's recovery fund, which makes his winning the gold that much more of an achievement.
Congrats Simon! Check the full gallery here!

First of all, the AST Dew Tour's summer program has been running for a while and is basically the be-all, end-all competition tour for certain sports like skateboarding. AST is bringing all that production knowledge and know-how over to the winter side of things for the first time this winter lending confidence this tour will flourish and not fizzle after one season like some others in the past.
Secondly, the prize money is pretty darn phat. With about $500,000 total going to skiers overs the three tour stops (Breckenridge, Mt. Snow, and Northstar-At-Tahoe). This kind of skrillia is drawing big names, which leads to my third point.
