Here's a little stoke for you as we enter the meat of this long, hot summer. I hope you're finding sufficient ways to cope without the snow...or maybe you're ripping it up on Mt. Hood or Blackcomb Glacier right now. Either way, enjoy. Thanks to our homies at Freeskier.
We appreciate that Mondays suck for a good amount of skiers out there. Back to work or back to school, no matter where your dreadful duty lies, we got some sickness to kick off your week. First off, you can now download The Massive on iTunes for just $5.99. Pop that on your iPod Nano and watch covertly from your cubicle or desk in the back of Algebra-Trig. And, for those with more immediate needs, we got the hot video straight out of Bad Gastein, Austria from this year's Red Bull Play Streets event. Enjoy.
If you haven't yet, check the trailer for The Massive.
Winter's here and before you know it, you might find yourself on top of a sick backcountry line wishing you knew more about avalanche safety. After a year of insanely hard work, The Fine Line: a 16mm Avalanche Education Film is ready to be shipped to your home.
Avalanches are the dark reality of life in the mountains and it takes years of experience to predict when and where they're gonna pop. The Fine Line's in the business of helping you start the journey towards educating yourself.

Basically, the entire Red Bull Ski Team is nominated for one thing or another, and Tanner Hall's The Massive has a handful of nominations in the movie category. I'm not trying to sway you one way or the other, but this is good practice in the democratic process. You might need to get used to this kind of thing now that we're soon to have a President that might actually listen to you.

Saturday Morning started off with the Spinney Bent crew, Micah Gentemen from The Sports Creel, and myself loading the Spinney Bent truck and trailer with 251 bags of shredded ice (snow) for the rail jam. Each bag weighing around 30 pounds, and every person running and working as fast as they possibly could knowing that we were pressed for time. With the trailer axels bending we hit the freeway in a convoy showing up to Simon and his crew from Big Sky Board Sports ready to help in any way to make sure the rail jam was successful. Tim Russell showed up early and decided to pitch in on throwing snow and raking take off"s for the rail jam. The set up was two Spinney Bent rails, one up down box, and then a two foot wide flat box.
Every rider was just stoked to be skiing in September and the new rail tricks that were learned over the summer were being thrown down within two warm up runs. Everybody was going off! Pete Arneson and Billy Biolo were throwing 270 transfers from one take off to the opposite feature. Tanner and Jeremy were among the first of athletes to arrive and sat down immediately to a warm and receptive response from their fans. As soon as the two sat down word got out that Tanner and Jeremy had arrived and in the blink of an eye there was a line for poster signing. Every person grinning from ear to ear enjoying the September sun and the chance to meet the very athletes they look up to so much.

But there's something different about going to Park City, for Tanner and for me. For Tanner because it's his home, his house is there, his friends are there. For me because I know I'm along for the ride to get to Tanner's house and chill out. We spent a week there in February while filming for The Massive and I can hear Tanner's plush leather couch calling me. We are both also aware that Darla Hall, Tanner's mom, is already there and whipping up home cooked goodness the likes of which we have not seen in a long time. Yes, Park City will be good.
