If there's a mountain somewhere that he can't ski, Jeremy Nobis hasn't found it. The two-time Olympian never played it safe in his competitive racing career, and since his "retirement" from the World Cup circuit in 1995, his idea of taking it easy has been to find the most insane vertical lines on the planet and ski the hell out of them.
Nobis was introduced to the mountains of Alaska in 1997, and it was a match made in Heaven - Psycho-Heaven, that is. Teton Gravity Research agreed to shoot footage of Nobis's attempt on Pyramid Peak, a 2,000 vertical-foot wall that approaches 50 degrees. He ripped the face in less than 25 seconds, checking his speed with only five turns in the whole descent. He's been shooting for TGR ever since, earning kudos such as being named to Powder magazine's list of "50 Best Skiers in North America."
In every format, Nobis comes across as just what he is: a man devoted to an outdoor lifestyle. When he's not skiing, or working with manufacturer Dynastar on developing new ski designs, the Utah resident can be found fly fishing, riding motocross, mountain bikes, and playing golf. Jeremy Nobis is living the life he always wanted, and while he is still as Psycho as ever on the slopes, in everyday life he seems, well, pretty damn content.

I hit an 8 iron 156 yards and half way to the hole I said that is going in the hole! You never really believe that but i said it. so it landed 4 feet short of the hole and rolled up and in. we could watch it fall! I still didnt believe it was in until I could look in the hole and verify. once that happened I blurted out I just felt like I won the olympics! Tanner Hall was actually more excited than I was. Parker the photog was calling everyone he knew who golfed on his cell. A hole in one is perfection! and you are never perfect in a victory you always make mistakes along the way. I felt relief because it has been the pursuit for 25 plus years. so once you get one you realize that it is all about you nobody really cares that much but they love to see it. It is the one achievement that you can enjoy because there are no real rewards except a self satisfaction from an achievement of perfection!
