Sean Pettit

Name: Sean Pettit
Hometown: Pemberton, British Columbia
DOB: July 27, 1992
Skis: K2 Juvy
Outerwear: Oakley
Goggles: Oakley Crowbar
Sponsors: Red Bull, K2, Oakley, Giro, Dakine

Sean Pettit can't legally drive a car, but he's licensed to school guys twice his age anywhere on the mountain. Busting on the professional ski scene at age 10, Sean Pettit has served up enough competition results and movie segments to be a veteran at 15. After watching a mind-blowing performance in Red Bull teammate Tanner Hall's new movie "Believe," it's scary to imagine where Sean will be by the time he's old enough to vote.

Calling Sean a "grom" is like calling a tiger a kitten. Amongst the peaks of British Columbia, Sean drops cliffs and boosts off kickers going just as big as the other pros around him. In 2007, Sean was sent on a powder mission to Japan for Warren Miller where he proceeded to slay the deep and launch off Niesieko's famous tree jibs.

Despite impressive career accomplishments thus far, Sean is super down to earth and deeply committed to his family. Look for Sean to pop up on more podiums and land more movie segments this season.

Winter is Back!

From Retallack to Utah to Mt. Hood, winter is back and hitting hard. You didn't think it was over did you? Get out there and get after it! The PNW is an especially good bet right now. Mt. Hood is slated for something like 60 inches in 6 days, possibly much more. And with Meadows running a $99 pass for the remainder of the season, well, you really don't have much excuse to not get some pow slaying done this spring (also, in case you forgot, last April was epic everywhere).
001c.jpgOr inside, if you will. Despite being an issue dedicated to females skiers, some of the Red Bull Ski Team guys make their presence known in the form of Sean Pettit (p. 16) shredding some epic Retallack night pow, and a full length feature on Chris Davenport and his big mountain exploits (p. 56). Grete Eliassen kicks it into full gear with an X Games shot alongside Editor Matt Harvey's intro (p. 24) and with multiple shots throughout the all-girl Whistler sled mission story (p. 100). Angeli VanLaanen always charges hard and the jealousy inducing photo of her dropping a cliff in some epic Russian pow is a fine example (p. 70). Angeli also shows up for a little "Ask a Pro" action on page 86. Nice work Team!
